Let me tell you what I factually know. On Jan.3, 2005, the
administrator posted his monthly notification in msg. # 38226 that the
locals mailers page was available to the membership and information
contributions were welcome.
OK.
Leads me to believe that this resource is a good thing, right?
Not factual, but your belief.
On Feb. 11, 2005, in msg. # 39882, the administrator, in answering a
question from a member about a site that offers cashback information,
says that vpFREE is no longer updating the page on bounceback cash. On
Feb. 12, 2005, the administrator makes an official announcement that
this page has been discontinued.
OK.
Summary so far, on Jan. 3, bounceback page is a good thing, and on
Feb. 12, bounceback page is a bad thing.
Interesting logic.
However, the "LV Locals' Promotions" DataBase Directory wasn't
eliminated because it was a good thing or a bad thing. It was
discontinued because of a continued lack of input by most LV Locals.
I decided to ask the administrator why he had a change of heart, and
the reasons that were given to me were that it was a lot of updating
work and that he was only using his own personal play figures and was
getting very little input from other local vpFREE members. I totally
understood this, but there was one thing that bothered me. When the
page in question was up and available, it had maybe 10, 12, or 15
casinos on it that were local friendly, so to speak. When the page was
taken down, every individual casino database page that was on that
list was modified to remove all of the information regarding
bounceback that had taken the administrator months to assemble and put
up in the first place. Here's my big question. If one decides to
stop doing a task that is too much work, why in the process of
stopping the work would you purposely cause yourself more work? As I
previously stated, I can understand the stoppage, if it is too much
work, fine, just stop doing the work. But, to have to go in manually
to each page and remove information that took so much effort. What
was the reason for this? If I were in charge, I would certainly have
been quite proud of the good information that I had collected to date
that would help so many of the members. No way would I go in and
remove it. .
Nudge confronted me at Fiesta Rancho and he appeared to be
very agitated and upset. In response to his questions I told
him that bounceback coverage had been discontinued because of
a continued lack of input from most LV Locals, that all input
from Ms. vpFREE and myself had been deleted, but that input
from others had been saved on each casino's DataBase page in
the comments section. I also told him that it only took a few
minutes to complete the deleting of our input and the saving
of the limited amount that wasn't ours.
He then told me that he didn't believe me, that he had figured out my
real reasons, and that I was lying. After I became convinced that he
was serious, I told him that I don't lie and that we had nothing
further to talk about.
I will most probably never know the real reason for this change, I can
only speculate.
No need to speculate. The bounceback directory was discontinued
because of a continued lack of input by most LV Locals.
However, in my 30 years in sales and negotiating, I seemed to have
picked up a fairly good knack for reading people, so others have told
me.
If you're saying again that I lied to you, you're wrong again.
So as no to violate any of the vpFREE bylaws, I will not offer
up my own opinion as to what I really think happened.
Since you seem to be insinuating some devious motivation, you definitely
should offer your opinion along with any supporting evidence, which I'm
sure you can do without violating any "vpFREE bylaws".
I will say this though. It would appear that the vpFREE mission
statement philosophy is that they want us all to be smarter video
poker players, just not too smart.

Speaking of policy, those of you searching the archive might be
interested in msg. # 39748 from Feb. 7, that made the Sunshine Policy
into a Partly Cloudy Policy. No top democrat or republican could have
not said anything better.

It kind of made me think of our nation's Sunshine Law, or what is
technically known as the FOIA-- Freedom Of Information Act that was
passed in the late 1960's. Anyone who has seen the percentage of
information that our government is currently releasing to it's
residents will get this.
