The better machines at Palace Station have (or had) stickers that say "this machine not eligible for play cash promotions".

That doesn't mean the regular monthly bounceback for locals.

Play cash promotions were the free play promotions when we would earn so many points one day and return the next few days to get a certain amount of free play.

One thing to note if you aren't going just for the free drinks, is that they got rid of most of the food, They only serve "real food" from 4PM - 6PM. When I was there last month, the "real food" consisted of chicken wings and mini-quiches or mini-burritos. At all other times, they might just have nachos, slasa, nuts, bread, and cookies or cake.

REPLY - If you son is thirsty for more than swill, I would suggest CP, Rio and Paris, Harrahs and Flamingo is just terrible! In addition to the limited food they have an out of sight service bar where they have only "vodka", no Stoli, Grey Goose, etc. They have few call brands and my wifes daqari was awful, which is greatly disappointing as when she has a drink or two she pretends to have interest in me. Also, note Diamond lounge entry is limited to once per gaming day, so no lunch drinks and dinner drinks.

---. Can you please confirm that Diamond Lounge entry is now limited to once a day, if so I assume we cannot have a drink in Harrahs and then go to CP. For another. Is this policy applying to other Harrahs properties, we were in New Orleans last week and all seemed normal. In fact thet have much longer hours in the Diamond Lounge. On a different point Harrahs fired several of their long time bar staff in N.O. and now have a policy of rotating them every day. - --------- --------- --------- ---------

Wow! That's a new one to me! There have been times -
in the good old days - where we would hit the place
for breakfast, go to the pool and have a couple on the
way back to the room, then hit the place again before
or after dinner - or sometimes just stay through
dinner! Once per day. Really, why does anyone even
bother with this outfit any more?

It was a fun three years though. Many thanks to
Hockeystl and Pete R. for their private tips on
bleeding the HET beast. (no, I'm not Mormon!) We had
a great time, made a lot of friends, lost a few bucks,
stayed in great rooms, drank way more then we should,
and felt like it was worth the "gamble" - we will
certainly miss the old days.

It will be fun to see where the pieces land once the
hammer smashes them into oblivion. Competition again, anyone?

I, too, was wondering about this "one time per day" rule. I'm heading there next week
and will check it out. . . . . . Also, isn't the Rio's bar "hidden", too? I've never been
fond of the Rio's Diamond Lounge--for such a big property the place is tiny --considering
all the use it gets with World Series of Poker and all. . . .

When I stayed at Paris for 2 weeks last year April 2008. During that time I would go down to Paris lounge to have a drink or two, each the nasty potato chips (no hot food this time of day) and basically get nice and primed for the days activities. Once my wife was up and we had been around town for a while we would try to enter Paris, CP, Rio, etc Diamond lounges the same day. It was a no go. I have had that issue with AC properties as well, and I really don't abuse the clubs like a lot of folks, as I find they are not open when I want to go.

···

I was just at Caesars LV this past weekend and went to the Diamond Lounge twice on Saturday with nothing being said.

There won't be competition as long as people complain about HET here but continue to give them business.

One year ago at this point I had already made two trips to Harrahs. Trip #3 was set up and confirmed. But I noticed things like breakfast in the Diamond Lounge was now long gone. The potato chip brigade was on the way. I knew full well what I was getting for my stay at a casino with plentiful sub-98% VP.

So, I made my decision.

Flash forward to 2009: I have played about $200K through various VP machines year to date. Of that amount, $0 has been played at any Harrahs property. My 2009 Tier Score is zero.

So, I've made my statement and put my money where my mouth is.

Now it's your turn.
