Here’s the “real” story on Borgata comps: There is no minimum play to begin earning comp dollars, but you must earn at least $5 in comps in one gaming day (6 a.m. - 5:59 a.m.) to have them actually appear in your account. Once you earn the requisite $5 (or more) you can use them immediately. You also are earning slot dollars (“cashback” or “bounceback cash”). These slot dollars are equal to half the number of comp dollars you earn, e.g., earn $10 in comps (good for six months), get $5 in slot play (good for three months). I don’t believe the slot dollars are available to you immediately, but I’ve never tried. You always can check at the MyBorgata Center for current numbers (and get answers to your questions about how the program works instead of speculating). Also, you should get an email from Borgata summarizing your earnings from your most recent trip; however, this can take up to a week. I played there on Nov. 2 and got the confirming email on Nov. 8. In addition, your online account is generally updated within 24 hours of your visit – at least the comp dollars portion. The slot dollars portion often takes longer to show up online. You also can click on that section of the webpage to see when your comps and slot dollars expire. Of course, all this will change once Borgata’s MyBorgata player loyalty program is folded into Mlife early next year.
