Another explanation for the outcome below: $15 in comps for $7500 coin in is 0.2%.
0.2% of $100 coin-in is $0.20 in comps (OK, you probably had a little more coin-in than the $100, but certainly if you lose your $100 “pretty quickly” it may very easily not be more than $200 coin-in, hence $0.40 comps).
I would not expect a “session” that generated less than $1 in comps to count at all, or, at best, I’d expect it to add the fractional amount to the total, but not show it until it’s at least $1.
I suppose if you want to risk wasting some comps, you could run $500 of coin-in (=$1 comps) and pull your card, and see if any comps showed up. Then, if they don’t, you could re-insert the card and run $2000 of coin-in (=$4 comps) and see if that is added to the previous $1 that didn’t show up, and now shows up as $5 in comps. If not, you still need to run another $500 of coin-in to get to the $5 in comps. You could then pull the card after your account shows $5 in comps, and run another $500 in, and see if $1 is added.
Running less than $500 of coin-in in a single session may not generate any comps, even if you’ve previously reached the $5 earned comps threshold.
Of course, you could be correct as well, as far as the requirement simply being $5 comps per session; the above would determine how it works, wouldn’t take to long to do, and would tell you exactly how they are counting things, at a cost of a couple $$ of comps, max.
Or maybe you could just ask someone who seems like they understand how it really works.

- Borgata: you must earn at least $5 comps else you get $0 for the ses
Date: Tue Nov 8, 2016 1:04 pm ((PST))
I played 2 sessions in a day.
morning session I had $7500 coin in. saw $15 comps immediately in my acct.
evening session I put in $100 in $0.50 JoB before going to the comedy club.
lost that $100 pretty quickly.
I didn’t check my acct while I was there.
I came home the next day and checked my acct online.
It still says $15 comps?
so it’s not earn at least $5 comps per day, else you get $0, it’s earn $5 comps per session?
that means pulling your card out to check your balance in another machine resets it back to $0 and you start all over again.
