Bonus Poker At Paris Gone... Part of TR

Hi,
GF and I returned on the 14 after a week in LV.I'm at least a
thousand messages behind but the topic of Paris BP caught my eye..and
so.. Stayed at Caesars for the first four days but played at Harrahs
and Paris on the now MIA Jacks and BP. While playing at Paris an
asst. slot manager introduced himself to me( originally I was going to
post this w/o giving the name of the casino, but since BP went MIA I
don't see the sense in omitting the casinos name).
Anyway the asm and I got into a discussion re VP and he revealed the
following...remember at this time BP was still on the casino floor....
1. HET is very much aware of the ER of their various VP machines.
2. They are "concerned" about skilled players.I tried to no avail to
discuss the difference between a skilled player and a pro in re to the
fact that machines like 8/5 BP and 9/6 Jacks at HET properties were
not going to be played by pros.
3. "Higher ups" wanted the elimination of bonus credits on their FP
VP machines .
4.Yes..he and others regularly surf the internet VP groups. What he
said draws their attention is not that casino xyz has jacks etc. but
posts that state that on certain days with marketing incentives some
promos can turn into positive situations. He said that this can
happen because many times there is a gap of comunication
between "casino and marketing."
5.He also said that what is the casinos incentive to offer higher
paytables when lowering them seems to draw the same amount of action?

   Larry F.

Exactly. Tourists think locals are all savvy VP players. It's not even
close. Go to the Suncoast or Rampart. Slots are being played much more
than VP. Machine keno is probably being played more than VP. I agree
with this unnamed manager. Lower the paytables and Paris will lose a
few customers. But...I often heard grumbling from visitors that could
not even get a seat at those Paris machines because players were
playing blackjack or keno on them.

Anyway, those Harrahs managers or whatever can smile now. But just
wait until the buyout is completed and the gutting of staff begins.
