Bob Dancer's LVA Column - 26 JAN 2016

Yes, I agree with you that it is worth 2% since you get $100 plus all the lower level prizes for earning 10,000 points.

10,000 points = $10,000 coin-in on video poker and $200 / $10,000 = 2%.

Is this an even better play than described in Bob¹s article? Wouldn¹t it be
2% back or am I missing something maybe some fine print not listed on their
website.

New Silverton Rewards Club members could receive up to $200 Free Slot Play
on their first visit!

$1 = 2 points on all video reels and slots

I also agree it's worth 2% instead of the 1% I cited. I glanced at the sign earlier and didn't study it because I was already a player there and it didn't concern me. I should have told my friend to read it closely before signing up in case I was mistaken.

On the list of prizes, if you play $10,000 you get $200 in free play. If you play $200,000 you get to swim with the mermaid, along with getting the $200 in free play.

I have a hard time picturing what kind of first-time player would play that much in one day to get such an award. Even on the best machines in the house, that about a minus $1,600 in EV (assuming you play perfectly --- which basically nobody does) before you include the slot club and minus $1,000 after. 'Course, if it were a REAL mermaid . . .

Thanks Bob and everyone for your responses. I only noticed that article a
few days ago and it only caught my attention because my wife and I will be
in Vegas this upcoming weekend and we have never played at Silverton before.

We have been staying at stations casinos over the past 2-3 years and mainly
playing NSUD. We wanted to try something different this trip so we will be
staying at Gold Coast so I thought Silverton might be a worthwhile play
after reading your article. We are new to evaluating promotions etc so your
article provided a lot of insight into how to do that. At stations the main
thing we had been looking at is double points days only. Not many promotions
from what I can tell when we have been in town at stations no have the
offers been very good.

I have a week to go through your winners guide and learn Jacks, bonus poker
strategy.

Thank you to everyone who contributes to this board and Bob all of your
articles and books have been a huge help to me to at least be able to not
lose as much and or have some winning trips and finally to be able to get
comps from the casino while in town.

"Swim with a mermaid" is code for they dump you in Lake Mead with a new pair of cement overshoes?

Taking your question seriously, they have a large fish tank there and periodically they have a mermaid swimming inside. Not sure if she's feeding the fish or not.

I suppose one could be an aquarium-aficionado and want to join her. Her costume covers her completely up to the neck, so it's not like there's a lot of sexual overtones to her being in the pool
