Interesting article, I'm not sure if I see the point. I think he's trying to say that even though a promotion may be profitable, it might not be for everybody's tastes. If that is his point I wholeheartedly agree.

For example if I was eligible for the promotion at a casino that was exactly the same as the one described, I would not choose to play the promotion unless it was at a casino that I wanted to get established at. It wouldn't be worth the risk to me for $47 in profit if I had no intention of ever returning, but if it was a place that I had been considering this would certainly be enough reason to take the plunge.

Regards
A.P.

The point wasn't lost on me: $47 is a small price to keep peace in the household (especially if you can return by yourself the next day ...)

Is this promotion available if I had been a member a number of years ago, but haven't played there in a long time?

I can't address this specific casino, but I can address it in general terms.
It all depends on if the casino has purged it's database. If they purge unused accounts, then you would be eligible.
If they don't then you wouldn't be eligible. Some casinos keep accounts open for many years.Easiest thing is to pop into the casino and see if you are still in the system.
