While I don't disagree with the article, I don't see anything there that adds anything
new to the general knowledge base for video poker players.

What makes you say that this is a great column ?

It's a great article. Years ago I had to learn how to do everything Bob wrote about in the article. Bob is not writing to me, I'm already there. He's telling all those who want to reach professional level some of what it takes to get there.

I'm loafing today, so had time to read all responses to this article and surprised that no one
has commented on the most obvious item in it to me. From the article, the following line in point a.:
---The difference between receiving nine credits per coin for a flush compared to eight per coin is
worth $30 an hour or so if you're a single-line dollar player.----

I don't know of any game that offers a 9 for 1 return on flushes. I can come close to it with the
8 for 1 on the now basically defunct full pay All American. Are we sure that Bob wasn't thinking
of a full house payoff instead of a flush?

What makes you say that this is a great column?

No, but many recreational players may need to be reminded of what some of us
chronic players may know like the backs of our hands. However, if the 9 for 1 flush
payoff is true, not only would I consider the article a great one, I would certainly
be constantly moist with anticipation in two bodily orifices hoping for more
information on such a game.
