In my opinion the manufacturer should be declaring what level of strategy the auto hold is using.
i.e. They could say that the strategy they are using is 100% perfect strategy, or 99.7% strategy or any other type of a strategy that they choose.
As long as they declare what they are doing I don’t see why any reasonable person would have a problem. If they don’t declare what they are doing then one could play it for a while and look at the suggested holds and then determine if they like that method of play or not.

Regards
A.P.

O
Only a fool would assume that a vp machine with auto-hold, for which the underlying strategy is unqualified, employs an optimal strategy. (Of course, casinos and fools hold a strong attraction to each other.)

Frankly, I see no reason why such a strategy need be optimal, or even near-optimal. There are no explicit or implied warranties to that effect.

My own vested interest in the subject would desire a sub-optimal strategy that creates room for an advantageous play.
