This seems too complicated to me. We have lived in Vegas for 10 years. We each have a separate gambling account aside from household expenses. When one gets a royal, the spouse gets 20%. For drawings or tournament winnings, the spouse gets 50%. Sure is simple and works for us.

Congratulations! having a system that works for you is valuable. Bonnie isn’t a gambler so your plan would have all the money going one way. If I had to give up 50% of my drawing winnings and 20% of my royals, I would likely have had negative annual scores 10 or so different years. So I wouldn’t want to do it your way — but if it works for you, great!

Every couple has a slightly different way of doing things financially. Our way is colored by some of Bonnie’s heirs being nervous about her hooking up with a professional gambler. So we needed to find something that would work within those parameters.

It can be hard. My wife does not gamble. If we go to Morton’s where we live it is a joint expense so it gets deducted from the joint account, if we go to Morton’s in AC which is 1:1 she is doing me a favor helping me get value from those comps so there is a sweetener to get her to make a trip that is boring for her. Or the flip side is when we stay at a room with the ‘fornication shower’ for $13 and we do a wine tour instead of playing, the getting tripped hurts me more than the $6.5 which is her half of the room. And NO! I do not get the $6.50 from her anyway.
