The gratuitous criticism of Bob is just human nature at work. There is nothing Bob can do about it, so he shouldn't sweat it. Every person of note has detractors. That's just the way it is. Their motives can be as pure as the driven snow, and they can bend over backwards to please everyone, but there will always be someone who takes exception to them. That's just the nature of human beings. Even Mother Theresa took heat.
