Change the suit of the three in the last hand, it looks like a typo.
I believe you are correct, vpplayer88. That hand originally was A K 10 spades, 10 diamonds and 3 clubs. The column was edited and the suit of the 3 was changed from clubs to spades. That hand is now A K 10 spades, 10 diamonds and 3 spades.

That's right - the day the column was posted to the group, the "3" in that final hand definitely had a "Club" symbol next to it, and based on what Bob wrote in the column (and what correct strategy dictates) like vplayer88 I also believed it to be a typo. By the time Bob replied to vpplayer88, the symbol had been corrected.
