Bob Dancer's LV Advisor Column - 18 DEC 2012

http://www.lasvegasadvisor.com/bob_dancer/2012/1218.cfm

Good article debunking the oft-heard imitation logic of "If your system works, you should bankroll me." But there is at least one further drawback not mentioned: do I really want to teach my most valuable trade secrets to a stranger who might tell ten friends, any one of whom might have the ability and desire to become my competition? Even if she (the stranger) doesn't?

Bob,

It seems almost ludicrous that anyone should send you an email asking for you to teach them video poker, then to bankroll them when they play. I can't say that I blame you for not falling for that scam. I understand your position perfectly and agree with you 100%.

That having been said, perhaps I can interest you in bankrolling me for a $0.45 cent stamp so that I can send all my personal financial information to the former Deputy Secretary of the Treasury of Ugoddabekiddingmestan, who wants me to collect $100,000,000 on his behalf. I would be willing to split my half, $50,000,000, with you for this kind courtesy of your good self ;<)

Or perhaps you'd be interested in purchasing this very nice bridge that connects Manhattan Island with Brooklyn, NY.

With best wishes for the Holidays, and a Happy and Healthy New Year for All!

I made a terrible mistake when I lived and worked in Eugene Oregon. A single mother of three asked me for a 2000 loan to feed her kids and pay rent. After discussion with my wife, we loaned her the money after she signed a written contract.
She then forgot to pay in the scheduled timeframe. I asked her many times at work and she then went to HR to complain that I was harassing her about a personal loan. I was reprimanded by HR and warned to avoid the subject.
I took her to small claims court which is a pain in the ass because you have to hire a professional to serve the paperwork.
A few days after filing the paperwork, I received multiple offers to appear on Judge Joe Brown and Judge Judy. They would pay all travel costs and the loan amount for our appearance.
But for some reason, she declined to appear and I had to garnish her wages for the 2000 and all legal costs. I'm pretty sure they were extremely interested in the case because her first name was , Secret!!! Probably thought she was an exotic dancer.
Bottom line, never loan anyone money.
