I'm not too sure what that 'easy, surefire way to make money' is that you're mentioning here, but my analogy would be like me playing advantage video poker at Palms, then asking them to hire me so they can learn how to take money from me as a player through machine play, the placement of machines, mailings, slot club specials, etc. I might just shift over to straight rum today!
My chief point/inquiry was that do these professionals even play like they advertise, do they really win, or do they just do what the rest of us do and work our butts off (OK, I've been retired for 4 years) for $$, to play with every advantage in order to have the best opportunity to win? It kind of makes me not feel so bad any more that my results don't particularly shine.
The situation is analogous to the TV infomercials on how to get rich quick through real estate and other ways, the "real money" is in selling the books and progams, not the activity they are explaining. If you had an easy sure fire way to make big money would you tell the general public about it?
