I have purchased/read book. It does make some valid points
concerning the mathematics of gambling in general and VP in
particular, but the "story line" does not impress me. In my personal
opinion, not as good as his first effort.

A.P.,

I saw the attitude in the post and I did think about it, but I also have
a personal friend, that no longer is on this board, that was accused a
while back of being that "other person", so I know it can happen. I may
be wrong, and it is "him", but I also think that many are too quick to
judge. If I were to judge on attitude and thoughts about playing a
different strategy, for whatever reason, I, as well as several others on
this board, could be accused of being "him", and summarily told to go
elsewhere because alternative strategies are not discussed for general
day-to-day use on common VP games, much less taking a pot shot at a
so-called expert.

This is a main reason I do not post much anymore. I have been playing
this VP game for over 24 years now and I just don't need the verbal
abuse. I also don't hide behind my computer with a phony name and/or ID
as some do. I play the way I want and am more than happy with the
results, and when all is said and done, that is all that really counts.
End of rant. I will go back into hibernation now. :slight_smile:

If your play varies from the norm and it works for you, that is fine. You won't be bounced from the group for having a dissenting opinion.
I don't recall anyone ever giving you a hard time for your beliefs, because you have been willing to have reasonable discourse about your ways.
Rob Singer does not believe in reasonable discourse. He is right and everyone else is an idiot.
There is nothing wrong in my opinion with taking a shot at a Guru or two, heck I would back you up on some of them, but you have to back up an attack
with facts. I.a. bashing Dancer because he works both sides of the street would be a reasonable attack, because it is a known fact. Calling him an addicted loser would require evidence .

No need to hide, reasoned thought on both sides of any issue is worthwhile .

Mentioning or discussing alternative strategies on vpFREE
isn't forbidden, providing it can be done in a non disruptive
fashion. However, strategies that are propounded primarily
on the basis of limited anecdotal evidence aren't going to be
allowed very much ink.
