Re altruisim: I believe that Jean Scott, Scot Krause and Bob
Dancer all derive income from their writings, and that Jean and
Bob also derive income from their endorsements.
Bob Dancer does earn income from doing consulting work for
casinos, but I doubt if "working with the casinos to lower
paytables" is an accurate or fair description of his activities.
I don't know if Bob's consulting activities have been a net
positive or negative for the video poker community, but I'd much
rather have a player like him filling the job (with a personal
interest in preserving playable video poker) than having a
non-player doing the consulting.
I mean no offense to either Bob Dancer or his followers, but to me
this just smacks of sleeping with the enemy.
I don't consider Bob Dancer to be "the enemy", and as a general
rule, vpFREE believes in giving exposure to any / all relevant
video poker information, regardless of source.
