Sigh, I've got a serious case of bankroll envy. What would it be like
to have $10,000 just be one days variance and inmaterial.

Everything considered, I figured it was worth it to play. It would
take me four hours or so and I had the time.

I'll take a stab at the question you posed ... was it worth it to
play?

I'd say no, it wasn't, based on the words you used to describe the
situation. You said "both opponents would have to play many
hours the last day". Both Opponents ... and Many Hours. How many is
Many Hours? It seems unlikely they would both do it if Many Hours
means 15 or more hours. And it was a negative game (99.7%) ... only
travel bucks made it positive, but they had no value to you.

Finally, what would your two opponents be thinking? Wouldn't they
assume you would play to hold your position. That would discourage
them, especially knowing how many playing hours it would take
just to reach your point level before the last day.

I'm also curious whether Stations staff monitor joint use of the same
playing card in these promotions (letting people play in shifts)?
And can two people play at the same time using the same account?
Those questions may also be something to consider.
