I am planning to go to Las Vegas at the end of the month. Which
casino would you recommend that I stay at -The Cannery or the East
Cannery? I like to play Deuces Wild and Jokers Wild. Both of the
casinos have the full-pay machines.

Is there ever a line-up to get on these machines? As a woman
traveling by herself would you recommend one casino over the other?
I was not planning on renting a car. Do they have shuttle buses
from the airport?

Any help would be appreciated.

Myra

I'm not aware of either one having a shuttle to or from the airport,
but both are right on city bus lines, the schedules for which are
available online. I'd guess that the Eastside is easier to get to by
city bus from the airport because it's closer. I've occasionally seen
the full pay machines full at the one on Craig Road. They only pay
half points, including on 5x points days (thus in effect paying 1/10
points then), but I'd guess that the ones at Eastside do, also. I've
stayed at the one on Craig several times and have been happy, but
then, I'm extremely "low maintenance." I believe all the rooms have
beds.

Myra. This information was valid as of March 2009...Things may have changed
since then. You may want to consider the Cannery East because it is within
easy walking distance to Sam's Town. Sam's town has Full Pay Quarter Deuces
available and also has a free shuttle to the Strip and to Downtown. Sam's
Town has a better assortment of quarter machines than Cannery East. There is
also a city bus that stops at the edge of the Cannery parking lot. This bus
is usually empty because it is at or near the end of its route. The Full Pay
Deuces at Sam's usually have seats available in either the nickle or quarter
denomination. There is also a nickle bank with a progressive that is
available and is not full pay but It sometimes gets close to positive
because of the progressive. The Quarter Full Pay Deuces at cannery East are
sometimes crowded with locals but usually seats are available. good Luck.

May I quote you on that?

Hmmm. I hate to go out on limbs like this. Maybe I should just say
that every room I stayed in had a bed. Some of them even had 2.

If you pick the Eastside Cannery and like playing FPDW..........We stayed there in July. Bring earplugs. The loudness of the speakers in that area drove us out of there. After about 30 minutes, the cacophony was punishment. We left. Sams Town is alot quieter. And you didn't spend hours on the Player's Club line.

PS. If you like pancakes try the cafe (Eastside), they were the best we have ever had

Hi everyone,

Thank you Richard, Andy and Tom for your help. I really appreciate
it. Based on your advice, I will stay at the Eastside Cannery. It is
easier to get to by bus and it is so close to Sam''s Town. I had no
idea that Sam's Town was right beside it. It has full-pay Deuces so
if the music is too loud at the Cannery I can run over there. Good
to hear that the Cannery has beds. Thanks Tom! I had a good laugh
about that.

I live next to Eastside Cannery. Never see 5x points there. If can't get on the FPDW bank the 10 play 5/10c (gets worse at 25c)NSUD up towards check in from the FPDW bank is a good option. For multiline VP games EC far superior to Sams though I play both.
