Bob has obviously spent a lot of time and effort to develop a reasonably unique and valuable set of skills. Many of us have benefited from that time and effort through the infomation Bob shares. Much of that he is compensated for, but sometimes not.
Like many of the rest of us, Bob has made the decision to maximize his benefit from all of his hard work. That means he ends up working both sides of the aisle. He takes advantage of the opportunity to make money from selling the information fruits of his labor to gambling consumers and also to gambling purveyors. While I believe it would be better for him to be a little more up front with his consumer clientel about his business dealings with gambling establishments (the casinos obviously know very well what he does for consumers), he is not going out of his way to hide the fact either. I think people that are criticizing him for "siding with the enemy" forget that they either do or try to ethically maximize the return for their own set of skills and abilities.
So as long as I know that Bob consults for the casinos as well as selling, or sometimes giving information to consumers, I can make an informed decision. As I don't think that people sharing infomation will bring about the demise of video poker for the players, I don't think Bob sharing information with casinos will bring about that demise either. In each case the information is going to get out regardless. I also don't think that Bob could somehow hoodwink players with information that benefits casinos. The beauty of the internet is the free flow of information that makes that most unlikely.

Bob Dancer has and always will have one and only one priority in regards to casino's and gambling.....his own wallet. Dancer would not teach classes if he didn't get paid for. He wouldn't share information unless he gained benefits from it. It's nice to think his motives are altruistic in nature, but if you have ever spent a few minutes with the man, you know very quickly that he is out for #1 and #1 only.

I think Bob Dancer could be a Double Agent!

But the point as phrased in this thread is whether he is trying to
sabotage the advantage player. Clearly not.
really?
here are two newsletters circulated to casino employees, containing
articles written by bob dancer, titled "beware of smart players". it
lists a number of typical ways that casinos accidentally create
opportunities for advantage players, and how to shut them down.
