Subject: [winpoker] Bob Dancer machines at the Fiesta

The following question didn't originate on this bulletin board, but
since this is the only one where I participate and there is consider
cross-over among boards, I thought it appropriate that I answer it
here.

Q: Why were all of the 100% games removed from the
"Bob Dancer's Top Picks" machines at the two Fiestas?

A: The games removed (which have since been replaced) were
10/7 DB and 10/6 DDB, both of which are available in plentiful supply
on the Optimum Play machines (where ALL of the games are over 100%)
found throughout both Fiestas. The reason these games were removed
(without my knowledge) is that the Fiesta instituted a policy of it
costing $2 to earn a point on 100%+ machines and $1 to earn a point
on lesser games. In order to allow the Bob Dancer machines (which
include Two Pair Joker Wild 99.92%, NSU Deuces Wild 99.73%, 9/7
Triple Double Bonus 99.58%, and 9/6 Jacks or Better 99.54%, with
9/4/4 Deuces Bonus 99.45% being the worst one) to receive the $1 per
point rating, they removed the two "offending" games by replacing
them with 9/7 DB and 9/6 DDB.

When I heard about this I protested. The theory behind the Bob Dancer
machines is that these are games that I teach in my classes. (There
are others, such as FPDW, KBJW, and two Multi Strike games that I
also teach and aren't on these machines). If they wanted to remove DB
and DDB completely from these machines, that'd be okay since they may
be found elsewhere in the casino, but replacing them with inferior
pay schedules wasn't acceptable. It violated the spirit of what these
games represented.

Fiesta management powwowed and decided to return 10/7 DB and 10/6 DDB
to these machines, AND allow the machines to return 1 point for every
dollar played. This means that if DB or DDB is your choice of game at
these properties for nickels, dimes, or quarters, these machines will
offer you double the slot club points as you'll find elsewhere in the
casino for the same game.
