In my mind, “too greedy” is when your short term strategies cause you to not get the full value out of something, for example using maxEV per hand strategy when you would get more net value using min-cost-royal (max value per royal) or max-non-royal (when the true or final value of the royal is unknown and likely negative) strategy. Another example would be playing too much at one casino (where you are exposing yourself to “winning too much” and getting backed off) when you should be spreading your play around to multiple casinos so your wins mostly stay under the radar and your losses get rewarded. Another example would be continuing to play after hitting a royal when you know or suspect that hitting two or more royals per day will get you backed off.
