In case it is not clear to anyone else, it is my company, Leading
Edge Design that developed Multi-Strike Poker (as well as Cash King
Checkers).
I follow this group and many other video poker and gaming resources.
I do this for information as a game developer as well as a Video
Poker Player and I learn things every day.
I try to contribute to this forum when I have something relevant to
add. When the discussion of Bob's book led to a statement that Bob
scored his big win by not following his own advice and playing over
his head I remembered the "Pot Shot" article that I had read and
mentioned it here. I then read several posts using my name in
defense of anti-Dancer views. I was pointed to the article and re-
read it to find that it states a great restrictive case for taking
pot shots which I thought was totally sound and something I can tell
you I've done myself.
I tried to briefly state the main points from the article, both to
make it clear that I don't side with the person using my name, and
also because I thought that what Bob wrote spoke very well to the
discussion. It is a topic worth discussing in this forum.
I am sorry that you chose to read into my motives rather than forming
your own conclusion based on the material I posted. This material
was directly from the article and laid out great guidelines for when
you should take a pot shot if ever. Do you think that the article
provided bad advice? I didn't and I would be happy to discuss that.
In my previous occupation I worked on different high profile
products. I read the enthusiast's newsgroups regularly but made the
conscious decision to never post. This was after watching too many
attcks and discussions like this one.
I had planned to lay lower in the VP groups, however Tom encouraged
me to provide more information so I decided to give it a try. I can
happily disappear again if it doesn't make sense for me to be here.

From reading your posts, and given your knowledge of Multi-Strike
Poker ("MSP"), it's clear you have more to lose if you don't defend
BD or if you don't say nice things about DB. I raise this issue
because I have found out through reliable sources DB charges a fee
to write up a game for either "Strictly Slots" or other
publications
[this can be viewed many ways, i.e. DB needs to get paid for his
reputation and hard work OR it can be veiwed as extortion]. And
given BD's role in an upcoming article about MSP, it makes you a
reluctant bedfellow of BD. From a business perspective, I
understand with BD's clout he can trash any video poker game, and
therefore there exist a desire for sucking up.I liked reading BD's writings when I started playing vp, and I give
BD a lot of credit for being a de facto national spokesperson for
promoting vp. However, the more I interacted with people

So Larry, when you write about BD, are you doing it because of the
