My Husband was told yesterday that he had to go to the CES show in
Vegas this weekend. He tried to get a room but of course everyone is
booked solid. He called our host at the LVH. She couldn't comp his
room like they normally would but did get him a room from Thurs-Sun
for 54$ a night. She also threw in a bunch of coupons for free meals
and a two for one show. I am pretty impressed given the very short
time frame and the lack of rooms. The only bad thing is I dont have
any vacation time left, so I can't go along. Its much nicer weather
there than here in snowy, foggy Utah. I will be sitting at my desk at
work being very jealous...Oh well.

Vegas is NEVER sold out.
I don't care what anyone says.
About 10 years ago on New Years Eve, I decided to stay over night
rather than heading home to beat the traffic.
I asked a pit boss friend of mine at a downtown casino if he could
try and hook me up in such short notice. After a few minutes, he
came back to me and said "Your're all set".

Same thing about 5 years ago during CES.
I thought my company reserved a room for me, but found out late in
the afternoon during the show that they didn't. I called a host at a
local's casino, and voula. A free room, while the strip was sold out.
