Sorry for the delay on the report. I ended up checking out Black Oak for a few hours on my way up the mountain. VP pay schedules were really bad and I was considering playing Blackjack and wishing I'd taken my chances with the unknown machines at Chicken Ranch. I ended up sitting down at a short pay $1 BP machine and did OK. I got up a bit and decided to move to a 3 play machine. I was pleasantly surprised to see it was a full pay machine at $1, although short pay at lesser denominations. I ended up walking out up about $500 after 2 1/2 hours, proving short term variance can benefit a player even on a short pay machine although I don't recommend it if you can help it. On my way back down the mountain I popped back in and hit the 3 play for awhile. About 4 hours later I walked out down about $200. Overall, I made a few bucks and may have found the only full pay machine in the place, the multi play machine located next to the high limit slots at the back of the casino. The casino itself was nice enough with decent drink service. I didn't eat at any of the restaurants so I can't comment on them. I certainly wouldn't make a drive there from the Bay Area with better VP closer to home, but I may stop back in on my way up to next years annual fishing trip with the guys.
