I did read one post on this situation that cautioned that we players should
have known that the casino has the right to cancel, change, etc. any promotion.
You're not talking to newbies, afterall. We were playing based on verbal
confirmation from these properties that a new local system was now in place.

When most of us veterans talk about anticipated bounceback from various
casinos, it is based on first hand information from the properties' employees. In
the case of Wynn and Binions, many of us even had tier levels given by the
"clubs" telling us what handle qualified for how much in coupons
(bounceback)/week.

In the Binions case, we locals (myself directly) were approached by the VIP
employees at the last slot tournament. In a direct manner, we were told that
locals
who put on 40,000 pts in one month regardless of the number of trips would be
receiving $200/week. Whether this has too high, low or about right, this is
what they were touting as their new system of reward.

Even now, these rumors that Binions may or may not send mailers this month,
IMHO, is merely a ploy to generate our play . No doubt these firings of all
the former VIP employees means no info is valid at this time. In many of
similar cancellations of coupon rewards over the years, notices were posted that
such and such would occur effective whatever the date. Even if some of these
perk cancellations were not to our liking, at least the property gave us notice
so we were not giving them an unnecessary handle when no rewards would be
there. Some of the properties are ethical in their dealings with their customers.

The Coast/Station properties actually have their reward levels on line or
posted on the wall of their slot club booths. Coast casinos in the past had a
gammit of merchandise that one earned as their play approached 1,000,000
points. On a given day, a notice was posted that after a certain timeframe, no more
gifts would be given. That, at least, gave anyone near whatever prize they
wanted a chance to claim that reward before the program closed.

Programs and promos will come and go but this latest incident was a real
turnoff for the old "bait and switch" technique by Binions.
