painless (unless you are boycotting them because "Harrah's took the
comps").
I also got my $10 for 2500 points and decided at the 0.8% , why put in any
more than that. Its either 2500 or you have to go all the way to 10,000 for the
$25. No other increments are allowed.
This standard answer of "Harrah took your comps with them" is when you ask
about your comp account. Having experienced many owner changes or even internal
devaluation of slot accounts to another system, the loss of our comp monies
simply means that the new owner did not wish to take on the liability of what
was in our reserves. As reported, they did give me a $15 lunch comp "on the
house" as a show of good faith that I was a known player in the past. How long
will that last? I had over $300 on the books when Binions changed hands.
In essence, they were too cheap to honor the accounts of the previous owner,
Harrahs. In negoitiating the buy-sell agreement, everything hits the table
from keeping employees, benefits, outstanding chips, etc. The boothling kept
saying that Harrahs took our comp accounts as if we could query their
corporation and ask "where" or "how" could we redeem same. They could not , however,
give us a contact of who were we suppose to see or where we would claim same.
Harrahs, also is not innocent in this matter as they could have warned
everyone to use their existing comps before the sale. I tend to "save" my comps and
more than once, I have lost same as different properties tightened up on
comps because of abuse.
I had thought that with so many new properties, this vision of a "gas war"
would make the offerings better; instead as each property limits their
"freebies" and such, the others follow suit. As the customer base now has to be shared
by more properties, I guess the bean counters feel that limiting the
promotions helps the net profit.
I'm withholding judgement on the new Binions until I can see if there are the
worthwhile plays now and again. I'm also motivated from last year's 10K win
in a BJ tournament. It will never again be the gambling casino of the old
Binion family.
