I not only checked out the 8 fullpay machines at Binion's, but
made a $20.00 non-refundable deposit in each one. I felt it
was my duty to do my part to keep these babies in service a few
more weeks.

I guess you missed four of them. There are twelve to play. You can see all
twelve leaning against a support column by the west snackbar. You ever get a
cocktailer to stop by...I couldn't at 10am.

These plays are sticking around in my opinion. The paytable glass on all
twelve have the new Binions logo embalmed in them.

I am distraught to have missed (overlooked) 4 more fullpay
machines. I could have added another $80.00 to poor Binion's
bottom line! I'm going to be back after January 1st, for a
couple of days. I'll catch them then.

I have never seen a cocktail waitress working this section
of the casino. I guess Binion's thinks that putting the machines
on the floor is enough. Also, you're just a few feet from the
snack bar, should a horrendous thirst overtake you.

Well said. I played at Binions earlier tonight on the four 10/7 DB
machines. The only waitress I saw walked directly from the poker area
to the waitress staion at the end of the bar that surrounds the
sportsbook; obviously, it would have been too much of an effort for
her to walk 15 feet to the left to ask if I or the other players
wanted a drink..

So its not surprising Binions keeps posting negative cash flow. MTR
Gaming is a joke as far as being able to operate a casino. Some of us
have been around long enough to remember when the place was vibrant
and full of action. Now it is a skeleton of its former self; the
proper thing to do would be to put it out of its misery and nuke the
whole site from orbit, just to be sure.

So true, Charles!

I too remember the glory days of Binion's, when Benny was alive
and Jack was in charge. The place was jumpin', day and night.
The BJ and Craps tables were filled, the $1.00 slot machine crowd
was there in force, yelling up a storm, and there was always a hot
poker game in progress.

My daughter-in-law used to shoot Craps there for hours on end. At
that time, you could get 100X odds! Once, she stood at the Craps
table for so long, that "she fell through her shoes" (the heels
collapsed and disintegrated!) I convinced her that the airline
wouldn't let her on the plane w/o shoes, so she bought a new pair
before flying home to LA. This experience lent a whole new meaning
to me when I heard some shooter intone, "Baby needs a new pair of
shoes!"

Back in the days (mid to late 80's, I think) when pickets from some
union was trying to prevent gamblers from entering Binion's, EH & I
were there pumping away on Aces & Faces. Suddenly, a clamor arose,
and, amid shouts of "We back Jack!", Jack Binion appeared with a huge
bucket of quarters. He began throwing generous handfuls of quarters
into the slot trays of all players. We were the happy recepients of
$10.75 worth of free largess.

Unfortunately, Binion's downfall started when the evil sister, Becky,
took over the casino. It was a fast but inevitable slide down from
there. Too bad. I thought that Binion's USED to be the best of "old
Las Vegas".

I so agree. I never thought I'd look back fondly at the way Becky ran it.
