Bingo Bonus at Wynn and LV trip summary

I just completed my 1st Vegas trip as a $1 vp player and put in some
time playing DB at Wynn. While playing, I managed to win the "letter
X" on the Bingo Bonus for $610 in free play, which played out to be
about $485 cash (not stellar, but still a very nice bonus!). I figure
it must be pretty rare, especially since the X is the 2nd level bonus.
Although later in the trip, my brother won the 1st level bonus (the
postage stamp) for about $45, so unless it was just an extremely large
coincindence that both of us received bonuses on the same trip, they
must be reasonably attainable.

I am wondering if anyone has investigated the Bingo Bonus to determine
what value in terms of overall return this might add on. Does someone
win one of the bonuses every round? In which case, are you better off
playing during grave shift or on weekdays so there are fewer people to
compete with? Do dollar players have a better chance of winning than
lower denomination players?

I do realize that clearly it is not a real Bingo game (every player has
there own Bingo balls "drawn" and every losing card looks the same at
the end of the game - it just randomly picks someone to win so that two
players can't possibly split a prize like in a real bingo game), but it
would be interesting to learn a little more about it. Perhaps if
someone is in contact with a host they could try to get more
information on it.

On a side note, it was a very successful trip with a RF on 25c FPDW as
well as a RF and 4 deuces 3 times on $1 FPDW! Not to mention partnering
up with my brother to play some $2 10/7DB downtown and having him hit
quad A's and 2-4's twice and me hitting several quads including 2-4's
twice in only two hours of play!

It's a reasonably good bonus, I'd estimate worth 0.2%-0.3%. I've won
the "X" second-tier prize once myself and the first-tier prize about
fifty times. Impossible to get any hard numbers on this promotion of
course but I've become increasingly convinced that the denomination
you're playing has a lot to do with whether or not you win. I have a
theory that the system randomly predesignates (within certain
parameters) an amount of coin-in that will start the bonus bingo round
and then whichever machine actually crosses that casino-wide coin-in
threshold wins. This would account for the fact that higher-
denomination machines tend to win the bonus bingo game more often. (I
win approximately 5x more often when playing 5-play $1 than I do
playing regular $1 video poker, for example.) The bonus bingo game
definitely occurs more often during busier times within the casino,
which lends some additional evidence to the "coin-in threshold"
theory. The four advantage machines seem just as likely to hit the
bonus bingo prize than any other comparable machine in the casino.

Interesting thought. I found it interesting that tonight I hit the
postage stamp $52+ bonus in the process of playing FreeCredits. I
had not earned any points at the time I made the hit.

I wonder what would happen if the computer had predetermined that you
were going to win the Bingo but you immedately yanked your card at
the start of the game.

Last week the Bingo was malfunctioning while I was there. I won the
lowest postage stamp game and then my machine froze. It would not
accept my PIN. I kept pulling and reinserting my card. Each time I
would reinsert my card it would replay the exact same game which I
had won. A floorperson had to take my information and manually enter
the FreeCredit bonus from a remote location. Unfortunately they only
paid me for one win, not the ten plus wins I had witnessed on the
display.

I also think that Bingo starts after a predetermined am't. has been
run through machines throughout the casino. When I played at Wynn
a few weeks ago, more Bingo games were triggered during busier
playing times. BTW I won the postage stamp bingo game twice in a row
which a floorperson told me was very rare. I also noticed over the
course of a few days that when I missed the postage stamp bingo it
was always by one number in each configuration and also that same
number for all subsequent misses !

Same thing happened to me.
