I am driving through the Gulf Coast area next week, and I'd like to
know if the Grand casinos in Gulfport and Biloxi still have lots of
wongable slots like Odyssey, Visions (Wild Cherry Pie, etc.), wheel
of Fortune puzzle, and so forth.
I understand the VP in the entire town is crap (at least compared to
Vegas) so I won't bother with THAT, but I'd also like to know of any
insights into the live poker scene on the Miss. coast.

I'm not sure what a wongable slot is but I can provide some info on
Biloxi and the Wheel of Fortune puzzle. We just returned from 6 days
in Biloxi yesterday. I don't play slots much, I prefer VP and
Blackjack, but my wife played the nickel Wheel of Fortune puzzle slot
at Treasure Bay and won two hand pays. We also saw that machine at
the Grand Gulfport and at Beau Rivage.
FWIW Grand Biloxi and Gulfport are advertising loosening their
quarter machines (I think only the traditional reel slots). I was
lucky enough to hit a Double Diamond jackpot on one of the quarter
machines with less than $2 in so I quit on a good note.

No they do not, but this question brings back a lot of fond
memories. You can find the occasional one or two machines scattered
around here and there, but probably 95%+ of the good bonus machines
that existed on the coast a few years ago have been taken out.

I don't play live poker, so I can't really help you except to say
that the Grand in Biloxi certainly seems to have the biggest poker
room on the coast. The Grand in Gulfport also has a nice sized poker
room. Sorry, I don't know anything about the games, limits, rake, or
player ability. I do know that live poker is also available at the
Copa and the President.
