Biloxi MS questions

Does anyone know if any of the Biloxi casinos such as Beau Rivage, etc.
offer any good first sign-up deals, such as matching other coupons or extra
free play or extras for Harrah's or 7 Star Diamond members?

Feel free to email me info separately since if the offer is really good,
maybe it shouldn't be posted.

Also, if you receive a W2G in Biloxi, can you file a non-state resident tax
form and get back any of their taxes, or are you stuck? (Louisiana lets
you file as a non-resident and returns most of the taxes they take).

Thank you for your help.

I'm pretty sure you can't get any of that tax back from Mississippi. But you may be able to get a credit for it on your own state tax return.

Please feel free to email me privately, if anyone has any offers
that are too good to post here.

From "Tax Help for Gamblers," Marissa writes:
:
"Mississippi residents do get a small break, wherein the W-2G amount doesn't have to be counted in their gross income for state income-tax purposes. And non-residents who live in a state with an income tax may take the withheld Mississippi tax as a credit on their state taxes if they've counted Mississippi winnings in their gambling income. Or those who itemize on their federal return could list the withheld amount as a deduction on Schedule A, under State Income Taxes. It is, however, a preference item for figuring the Alternative Minimum Tax, which means that the deduction could hurt you in certain situations. Gamblers who file as professionals may take this Mississippi withholding as a business expense."

Check out the Grand Biloxi page on the Seven Stars Insider Web site: http://sites.google.com/site/sevenstarsinsider/grandbiloxi. I haven't checked lately to see if they are still making these offers, but it's worth investigating.
