Big split poker at Peppermill

VPFree lists this game at 99.95% in the JOB version and I see that there
are three slant tops in the high limit area at the Peppermill. I have been
told that this is one of the most difficult games to master for proper
strategy. Does anyone know if there is training software for this game and
where I might find it?

Well, I'm not sure who told you that , but its a bit of a bum steer.
Jacks or better is the easiest, and least possible to make a mistake. Shuffle around the top and bottom hands and pick the highest pays.
The single joker is next, and this is difficult to play FAST and accurate.
Deuces is the most challenging, and very difficult to play Fast and accurate.
I stick to only jacks, because its important to play fast and accurate. The game will allow you , without warning, to lock in and submit a non-optimum hand.

The Peppermill version may be down to just the one on the left of the bank of 3, next to the stage. Trip before that, they were, indeed, in the HL room. My understanding is there is no real "published strategy" for this game. Only help I've seen is Bob Dancers article addressing some guidelines.

I should add, for clarity, that the other two are still there, but have been downgraded, I'm pretty sure.
Agreed that the JOB version is the best one, and may be the only game that is full pay.

the smallest possible error in Big Split is half a bet. this is about
100 times as big as a small error in a typical VP game, which is more
like 0.025 coins on a 5-coin bet. and that is the smallest possible
mistake. it's easy to make much bigger ones.

you can make numerous mistakes playing most VP games and still have
excellent overall return. playing BSP, unless you play completely
perfectly, errors will DESTROY you. we're not talking sub-99.9%
efficiency, we're talking sub-99% efficiency, even sub-97% efficiency.
and...

Does anyone know if there is training software for this game and
where I might find it?

...there is no publicly available training software for Big Split. so
you have no idea what your error rate is.

let me just say this: i play millions in coinin at Peppermill. if i
could get an extra 0.22% return by playing BSP instead of NSUD, it
would be worth a lot to me.

but i DO have training software for Big Split, having commissioned a
friend to write it for me. (i can't redistribute it; don't ask.) i
have spent over a dozen hours practicing on this trainer.

based on the results of this practice, i am not going anywhere near a
real-money machine. nor do i expect to ever do so.

maybe everyone else is right, and it's an easy game. maybe it's just
coincidence that one of the only people with the actual ability to
measure their own error rate is also one of the only people who thinks
the game may be far more difficult than it looks.

but i wouldn't bet on it. play at your own risk.

best wishes,

five

I have to agree with this. Unless you have practiced on a trainer, you have no idea how many mistakes you are making on BSP.

If you are playing accurately, you will be playing so slowly that you will feel like a moron. If you are playing fast, you may think you are a genius, but you ARE a moron.

It is a low-variance game, and it is particularly low in terms of variance per hour. However, I am sure that the casino is very happy with the hold on this game. They should put a higher theo on it.

Does somebody know what software has a trainer for BSP? Most of the ads don't mention it.
