Big SOUTHWEST AIRLINES sale

I don't work for Southwest Airlines (or own stock) but use then quite a bit.

Until 9PM Central Time tonight they are having a huge $38 sale through their DING! application. Almost every city has several destinations available. The fare from mine was good to most places 7 days a week in July or August. Yes, California to Vegas (and vice versa) is included, just not on Fridays.

For you Vegas locals this will be probably your cheapest opportunity to escape the heat if you are flying this summer.

What is their Ding application.I got an email from them ANNOUNCING $49 fares for three days. I booked a friend of mine from Chicago to San Diego for $120 July 9th.

The $38 sale was yesterday. DING! sales only last on a given day for a few hours, then disappear.

If you go to the www.southwest.com home page you'll see:

"Sign up for exclusive savings DING" in the center near the bottom of the page.

After clicking and downloading the application you register and select the airports (up to 10) about which you wish to be informed as sales occur. Every day the list changes and so do the airports (and prices). Pay close attention to when they say the sale ends. If it says 7PM Central Time you need to have your reservation confirmed by that time. Otherwise, you will get a message saying "sale ended" and face much higher prices.

Las Vegas FREQUENTLY appears on DING! and you can save a bundle if you watch for the sales. I check from the office and home since I couldn't install DING! on my cell phone, but you may have better luck.

Thanks for the great tip...this will save me lots of money since I go to Vegas from San Jose 12 times a year.

As of today (Tues. 6/23) I just noticed a big sale to/from Milwaukee on the Southwest.com home page. It doesn't benefit me, but for any of you who travel there or perhaps have family there be sure to check it out. Many $35 fares. You could even consider Milwaukee as an alternative to Chicago Ohare or Midway if the savings are substantial and justify the drive.

I am too slow...........lowest price today is $84 each way from Milwaukee to LV. I can do Allegiant from GB cheaper.

Thanks anyway. But I did sign up for "Ding" so that was a good tip.
