Well, it'll sure bring me into the Rio next time I'm in town. If for no
other reason than to see how much "skimpier" the CW's uniforms are. Parades in
the sky with people pitching plastic jewelry at you...dancing Bevertainers...it
all sounds darn entertaining to me.

Over the last year or so, I never found anything worth going out of my way to
play at the Rio, and the few times I was there, I hardly saw a CW anyway, so
(in my estimation) this place had nowhere to go but up.

(And I thought I read over on that other VP mailing list that "serious"
players didn't distract themselves with drinking anyway.)

I'd say you absolutely will find serious players at the Rio, because
of the Harrahs connection. For out-of-towners like myself, the Rio
is among the very best LV hotel options because of the ability to
generate consistent and very solid offers based on play in our local
area -- in my case AC. I'm certainly no fan of Harrahs' VP
offerings, but I visit Vegas at least 5x a year and usually stay at
the Rio, which I prefer over every one of the more VP-focused casinos
that send me offers (I'm comped for the first time in June at the
Palms so we'll see how that may change my perspective).

The Rio has terrific rooms, excellent selection of restaurants, first-
rate service IMO, good overall ambience. It's just too bad they
don't do better in the VP department, but I've learned to deal with
it. To keep those offers coming, serious out-of-town players are
definitely going to give them some play.

As for the Bevertainers, I was there 10 days ago, and didn't notice
anything very different except some of the uniforms WERE skimpier, as
if that could be possible. Every once in awhile a woman (--I saw the
same one at a few different portable stages throughout the casino)
would burst briefly into song. Was that a bevertainer? Somehow that
wasn't what I expected; I thought all of the CW's were supposed to
take part and that it would be a more informal, probably un-miked
performance for individual patrons. -- Gipper

Hello,

I am going to Harrah's in LV the end of June. How are they connected to the Rio? Where should I play to get room comps for my next trip?
Does Harrah's have good VP? Perhaps best just to play at Harrah's for room comp's and VP?
