I've recently run into the Beverage Ambassadors who seem to be in various
Harrah's locations such as Paris and Harrah,s. They seem to approach people in
or near the high roller areas. As a woman, it never occurred to me that the
Beverage Ambassadors were anything other than what they represented
themselves as -- some mid-range employees whose job it was to check on beverage
service, to make sure the cocktail staff was doing their jobs. Pimps of some
sort? Then why approach women -- just stick to the men. I also received a Thank
you note from at least 1 of them, maybe 2. They did politely ask about my
trip, where I was from, and so on.
I think maybe you guys were reading too much into their friendly ways.
My question about these people is a little different. If you are going to
have a Beverage Ambassador or whatever to check on beverage service, why not
higher someone as just a "Customer Service representative" to ask you how your
total service is - do you like the chairs, the beverage service, the type of
slot machines, the hosts, the promotions? I'd think the results of such a
person would be extremely helpful to a casino! (not to mention to the players)
