Best Western Mardi Gras Hotel??

I'm attending a convention in Las Vegas in October. Seems like the
closest hotel to the Convention Center with reasonable rates is the
Best Western Mardi Gras (3500 Paradise Rd).

Is this hotel a decent place to stay, or is it a dump? Rates are less
than $100 nightly and there's a free shuttle to the strip and a
monorail station nearby.

Thanks for any advice. mermaid in Iowa

You might also try Candlewood Suites 4034 Paradise Road. It's clean, and should be well under $100 per night.

I agree. The LV Hilton has undergone some renovations and the rooms
are quite nice - our last trip had 42" plasma tv, nice view, SUPER
comfy bed, big garden tub, nice furnishings and all for $49.99/night
if we signed up for their players club over the phone. The casino
has a nice layout and they have one of the best selections of video
poker including LDW, NSUD & 9/6 JoB.
We're leaving this afternoon to fly down and enjoy some good VP. I
love the Hilton!
