Best way/time to approach casino hosts

I plan on playing $1 VP and I am generally a $10 table game bettor.
I have the names of a few VP hosts. How do I contact them? Do I

just

go to the Players club window and just ask for them by name?

Again, thanks in advance for all the advice offered here.
After todays snow, I am really looking forward to Vegas

My understanding is that $1 VP player is attractive to the casino,
but the $10 table game player is not. Most casinos only rate table
games at $25 and up, even $100 a hand is not really high for table
games especially craps, although if you play quite a bit you will
get comps at that level.

Maybe only play $1 VP at palms and do you table play at Key largo
where I assume you will be playing much more anyway...

It seems the big thing on any coin machines is total coin in, I just
got back from LV Hilton and to my surprise I averaged $30k/day coin
in, much higher than I thought I would do, and they treated me great.

Others: I am guiding him correctly? Please comment for us all.

I played (did not stay) at the Palms in 6/03 for 2 days, averaging
$25k each day. The only offer this generated was a special rate of
$39 a nite for 12/03. I took them up on it and stayed there for 4
nites last December. Averaged $22k a day and on my last nite asked
to see a host. None of the ones that are recommended were working,
so I had to take the host that was there. He reviewed my play and
comped the room. That was almost 3 months ago and I have had no
offers since. I'm told the Palms does not send offers to out-of-
towners on any regular basis.

Wow... sounds like the Hilton is much more generous than the palms.
glad I didnt stay there. The hilton is being bought by another
group and will be leaving the Park Place group, the new owners are
supposed to be doing a $70 million update to it. Dont know the
exact timetable, my host was just passing along the info because I
mentioned that the place seemed a little dated.

I'm spending a couple of nights at the Palms on Mar. 30 - Apr. 1.

I'll spring for a beer at the bar (as long as you buy in for $20) for
anyone who
wants to say hello.

Anyone care to meet?

Thanks to everyone for their replies to my questions
I may have to rethink where I am going to play.
I may try and spend more time at LV Hilton rahter than Palms

Thanks again
