Best VP software?

The Masque (Eliot Frome) software had at least three versions. The original
Masque Video poker and the later VP Strategy Pro were not very accurate.
The last version was Multi-Play Video Poker which has better but far from
perfect strategy. All these programs use strategy charts which for many
games were last accurate than the strategy charts generated by VPSM or
Frugal VP. If it could not find your play on the chart it indicated that it
was worse than all plays on the chart even if your play was correct. This
was common in some deuces games. Another problem was that you could not
change paytables. I considered it lazy programming as Stanford Wong's VP
was available before the first Masque product came out and it did the
calculations quickly even on an "086" chip computer. This was the
forerunner of VP Tutor, Winpoker 5 & 6 (Earlier versions of Winpoker seem
unrelated and are crap.), Frugal VP, Optimum VP etc. The one good thing
with the Masque software is that you could print their chart and then use
one of the "calculating" programs to look for corrections including penalty
card analysis. Today I use VPSM to generate charts and Winpoker 6 to
correct it. (Others in this group may prefer Frugal VP which prints charts
as well as calculates.) Do not get me wrong, Eliot Frome was probably the
second most important person after Stanford Wong in teaching people how to
play VP in the early 90s.

Subject: [vpFREE] Best VP software?

Hi Group:

I am new to the group and have been plying VP in AC for the past year.
I learned on the Masque software. I play 9/6 jacks which appears to be
the only full pay VP available in AC. Does anyone have an opinion of
this software? I have read some on Bob dancer's and the frugal
software, and I am wondering if it's that much more superior to the
Masque. I play 9/6 jacks only as it is the best % return in AC.
