I believe you are misinterpreting Jazbo's article.

In any event, Chandler spelled it out when he said "To put
it simply, if you can divide up the same bet in multiplay that
you would have made in single play, you will experience less
volatility and will require smaller bankroll."

This means that there will be less volatility and a smaller
bank roll requirement for $1 five-play than for $25 single
line - although you have $125 coin-in per play for each.
