Best use of free play at Pepp Reno

Have offer of $100 freeplay at Pepp Reno. What is the best way to
take advantage? EV + VP, or slots? Been off the radar for 5 years.
Also, wonder what is the best way to use $100 rebate for new card
player? Any info appreciated.

Thanks,

fjc999,

The best way I have found to use the 'new member' $100 rebate, is to
try to get as many player points on your card as you can, limiting
your losses to NO MORE than the $100 rebate amount. If you win a lot
during your session early, play conservative the rest of the way to
protect your winnings. If you are only up a little or down a little
with 20 or 30 minutes left, crank up your denomination and play hard
till the end (again losing no more than the $100 rebate).

As far as what to do with your $100 freeplay, players generally use
their own personal preferences on how to play it. Some people treat it
as their own $100 bill and play it until it's gone or cash out at the
end of a session if some is still left. Some people play it through
one time ($100 coin-in) and cash out what is left (I'm in that group).
But it is completely up to the individual as to how to use it. Hope
this helps.

I'll be in Reno Tuesday night for four nights at the Atlantis, and two
nights at the Pepp.

while that's the way to go if you value player points highly, it also
subjects your $100 to as much churn as possible, with the house taking
3-8% on each play since you can only play slots, not vp.

i prefer the polar opposite approach - head over to vip slots, stick
your $100 in a high-denomination slot, and hit spin. if you win big,
celebrate. if you lose, head straight back to the players club and get
your $100 back. (you don't have to wait an hour.) this minimizes churn
and hence maximizes expected return.

side benefit: it will be perhaps the only time in your life when
playing a slot machine for $100/spin is actually rational. be sure to
maximize the drama! bring friends. be drunk. scream a lot if you hit
anything, pissing off the grumpy high rollers who are in the vip area
to avoid people like you.

As far as what to do with your $100 freeplay, players generally use

you have to play it through one time. for that one time, pick whatever
game best maximizes combined ev and fun factor for you. after that,
it's cash. do whatever you'd do with cash in a casino. play it, spend
it, whatever.

When did this change? I've always been able to play my FP on ALL VP.
The only exception was when the Pepp offered FPDW. The machines that
contained those games excluded FP. Or is this only a restriction on
the $100 FP offered to new members?

Good question..I wonder if anyone can confirm this since it was not
like that before.

I played some Free Play- from a mailed offer- on vp last Friday night
(10/19). Heck, a few weeks ago I used it on the .25 progressive 10/7
DB machines down the hall from the Cafe (near the Fireside Lounge),
so this comment makes no sense to me!

FYI and Thanks, Lee.

Have offer of $100 freeplay at Pepp Reno. What
is the best way to
take advantage? Any info appreciated.

Fireside Lounge
Play NSUD or JOB at .25 level ,watching the music on
the plasmas , talkin to bartender James or Brian,
enjoying a cold Becks or a glass of $15 merlot ,
sometimes the best Bloody Mary , virgin or otherwise.

or on graveyard playing the progresives at the
Cabaret bar with bartender Keith who makes THE best
Irish coffee , just ask him. {
Better coffee than the coffee shop.

Or play the Spin poker deluxe in the hallway between,

Excuse me, my memories getting in the way .

Pepp great place . dont really matter how you take
advantage.

I think i need to go back sooooon.

If we take fivespot's full paragraph in context, I'm fairly sure that
he/she is referring to the $100 new card holder rebate offer.

It's been too long since me or my friends gotten a new card, so the
rules may have changed (I'm pretty sure VP was valid a long time ago).

But it's an easy question: does the Rebate apply to VP?

Fivespot says slots only, we're just asking for a double-check on that
factoid.

i wasn't referring to freeplay - you can use that on vp. i used some
peppermill freeplay on vp just this afternoon.

i was referring to the new member $100 rebate offer. i brought a
friend to peppermill this spring, he signed up for a new card, and we
asked about the rebate offer. they said rebate of losses on slots, up
to $100, incurred in first hour of play. we asked if that included
video poker. they said no, slots only.

Or is this only a restriction on the $100 FP offered to new members?

the $100 offer for new members isn't FP, it's a loss rebate, which is
worth somewhat less.
