best software for vp strategy?

Hey - I'm new to the group and I'm considering purchasing some software to
help me learn VP strategy and I'm currently looking at 2 titles - 'WinPoker'
which is available off of Bob Dancer's site and also 'Frugal Video Poker'
from Wolf software. Has anyone used both titles and can speak to which one
is the more effective application?

Also - is there a generally agreed upon 'best book' on the subject of vp
strategy that I should look into?

i recommend dancer's reports to learn strategy for jb, db, dw. the
vp winner's guides by dancer and daily might be more thorough and
cover fp and short pay versions of more games but i don't know when
or if they are available. i asked about the winner's guides on this
group but got no replies. also did you try the free version of
winpoker?

I have both of the software titles that you are looking at. I beta tested Frugal VP, and have had Winpoker for years. They are both very good programs. If I were to be buying one only it would have to be Frugal VP, because it has the capability of creating strategy charts. Charts can also be created using another excellent program called "VPSM" "Video Poker Strategy Master" .
The cost of Frugal VP is less than the cost of the other 2 programs when combined, and is a better value because of this, it also creates statistical charts up the wazoo.
