Best Game to Learn: Combo of EV & Ease of Play

I am a relative newbie to VP and have been practicing FPDW on FVP
software for about a year. It seems to be a relatively easy game to
play at close to perfect strategy. On my last visit to LV, I had to
really search for FPDW machines to play (the directory was very
handy). I am aware of NSUD as a next best play, but I was wondering
what people consider to be the best games to learn to play
considering maximum EV and the ease of play of the particular game.
I know some games are harder to learn to play than others (at optimal
strategy). I like deuces, but would like to learn 1 or 2 other games
so I have some flexibility when visiting different casinos.

If you want an 'easy' game to learn, but don't mind losing about
1.25% in 'expected' return, then plain ole '9/6' Jacks or better is
probably your best bet. Make sure the 2 pair pays 2-1.
I think alot of players get bored with it (and all 4Ks pay only 125
credits); However, it is one of the few games (besides 10/7 DB) that
is offered at higher denominations ($1 and higher) in places.
You will get around 97% short-term return without SFs/RFs.
4Ks yield around 6% of that (so only 91% until you hit 4ks).
Sometimes you get 'more than your share' of bigger hands, sometimes
less. My record is about 10 4Ks and many FHouses in an hour (and I
made it to 1000 credits on $20 buy in).
In FPDW - 99% short-term, incl. 4-2s. WITHOUT the 4-deuce jackpot
hit, you are only receiving about 94%. Same thing, though.
Hit many wild RFs, 5Ks, SFs, and you might be ahead, maybe even
surpass 1000 credits WITHOUT hitting the 2s....
Generally speaking, the 'swings' in credits in JB won't be as severe
as in FPDW. In the extreme short run, though, one can experience up
to 30 bad hands (i.e. - maybe only a few 3K or 2 pairs or less), just
as in FPDW, many hands in a row without a 4K or even seeing a '2'.

If you like wild card games, then Joker poker is the next obvious
choice (but will take time to learn). But if you check the
directory, it's only offered in a fullpay table in scattered places.
If you don't mind driving/playing at those places, then it's a good
game to learn.

This really depends on the casinos you plan to visit;
(1) If you plan to visit "locals" spots, where JW is available, learn
that. This gives you great ER, but limited availability.

(2) If you'll be on the strip, you can't go wrong learning JoB. Lower
ER, but maximum availability.

The JB strategy can be used on 5-8 Bonus Poker and its many
higher-paying variations with few if any modifications.

Games this strategy will work on:

Jacks 6-9 (flat top and prog.) 99.5%
Bonus 5-8 " " " " 99.1%
Aces and Eights (Circus Circus) 100.2%
Ace$ Bonus 5-8 99.5%
Aces and Faces bonus 99.3%
Royal Court (Station Casinos) 99.7%
Double Jackpot Bonus 99.7%
Sahara BP (All quads pay 35) 99.7%
Ramada Laughlin BP (Quad 7's pay triple) 100.1%
Stratosphere 6-8 BP 100.3%
Stratosphere 5-8 superquads 100.2%

I would suggest that you learn full pay Jacks or better, the strategy is also good for single bonus poker at an insignificant loss of accuracy. These 2 games can be found in a multitude of casinos.
Next game to learn would be Pick-Em , an easy game with a great E.V.
