Although I'm also somewhat of a conservative (more of a Libertarian, actually), I still have to correct you on something.
Liberals, for the most part, do want to "mind your life" as you stated. However, conservatives do it too when it comes to "moral" issues. Gaming is one of them. Prostitution is another. So is pornography (very loose definition), abortion and the legalization of drugs. The conservatives preach smaller, less-intrusive government, then they turn around and tell you what you can't put into your own body, what you can't put in front of your eyes, what you can't do with your money and even what type of sex you can't have.
BB IS a conservative. He just can't practice what he preaches.

The man has campain against gambling every chance he
has, giving $ to anti-gambling canditates, going to
their district or state to campain for them, going on
TV & saying "not everybody can handle a slot machine
on every corner, the social cost is too high" (Meet
The Press)
AND has charged BIG bucks to speak at conventions of
anti-gambling groups all over the country telling them
exactly what they want to hear. Hope they get their $
back. ; )
But that is what a liberal does, not only wants to mind
your life, but wants the goverment to force his way of
thinking on you, the man is NOT a conservitive,
Please check out the writings of Barry Goldwater or
William F Buckley to understand what a conservitive
should belive, might surprise you.
and yes my spellchecker is BROKE,
