Amazingly the Bellagio remains without power over 24 hours after the outtake.
The TV estimates the MGM/Mirage company will lose over 8 million because of
this, assuming they finally restore power tomorrow. News reports here seem
somewhat spotty, but it could be that part of the delay in restoring power is
that they couldn't figure out why it went out!
Apparently all people with rooms have now been assigned elsewhere. Of course
when power comes back on there will be thousands of people who need to check
back in -- all at once. Also long lines at "O" for refunds/tickets??
We have "O" tix on Sat.....hopefully....
It amazes me that it has taken this long with no restoration of power.
Presumably anyone who was playing a slot machine at the time of power off had
to get a slot attendant to register that fact, how many credits were in, etc.
Also people with payout tickets couldn't get them cashed. Whenever power
is restored the slots should reboot with all the credits still showing on them.
Once power is restored it will take them quite a while to restore service.
They will have to verify machines, remove old food from refrigerators (ugh)
including those in the rooms (ugh), clean all the rooms at one time, clean
everything. Then check in those lines of people. Yuck!
