Bellagio 5/10 play 9/6 JB gone

I was at the Bellagio tonight and we found that those 5 and 10 play quarter
and fifty cent 9/6 JBs were now all downgraded to 8/5. Coincidence, or did the
extra action on the machines from this group cause them to disappear? The
one time I played I lost a lot there.

Interestingly, there was also a "secret" play on the two 5-play machines on
one side which was never mentioned here - nickel and dime 10/7 DB. This is why
you need to look at every machine and every pay table. That play was there
for some months, but it is now gone too.

A friend and I played there a little one week and both lost a lot of $ on
those machines.

Did the increased play on this bank draw attention to the machines? Did
someone hit a royal on a bottom line? Or did some mechanic just notice the
slightly higher than normal pay tables?

This is a case where the Bellagio really was dumb for removing these
machines. The 9/6 JB and 10/7 DB (if anyone knew about it) brought some players into
the Bellagio who hadn't been there in months or years. Playing these machines
was marginal, in that playing 5 or 10 play quarters or fifty cents, really
required a fairly large bankroll, and even the nickel and dime 10/7 DB could
cause a little guy to lose hundreds, sour at the experience, and wipe out
quickly.

Meanwhile all these new players brought their spouses, friends, significant
others, etc., who played other games, ate at the Bellagio, and so on. One
spouse I know of played $5 reel slots while hubby played quarter 25 cent 5-play
JB.

So I truly doubt that the increased play really cost the Bellagio anything,
but did give the Bellagio some new players and good will.

Well the play is gone now, the players will be back over at Stations and the
Palms and elsewhere.

I just can't believe that 9/6 JB which has killed me for years is any threat
to any casinos in quarters, fifty cent, or $1 denominations, even with some
modest cashback that may boost total payoffs to nearly 100%. Bankroll limits,
poor play by non-knowledgeable players, and mistakes by even those using
strategy, make this game an overalll winner for casinos. Even if the casino profit
margin is low, it is sort of a "loss leader" that brings in other players,
gives some good word of mouth of occasional winners, and all that makes it
worthwhile for casinos to continue to have some 9/6 JB.

I didn't check $1 and up 9/6 machines at Bellagio - I assume they remain
there.
