Being "tripped" at the Palms...

I'm not positive.

However, if you put money in a machine with your card inserted (or insert
your card in a machine that already has money in it), then remove your card
without making a bet, the display still says, "Carded session in progress." I
believe that you have begun a "trip" at this point, even before you bet. I could
be wrong.

Draw your own conclusions. My suggestion is to not have both your card and
money in the machine at the same time, unless you are certain you will be
playing that day.

Brian, Isn't it the process of placing a bet that triggers the trip?
Say I inserted my card followed by a $20 bill in the validator, then
changed my mind and cashed out the $20 and removed my card without
placing a bet. Do you think this event would trigger a trip, as
opposed to inserting my card soley to check my points without
inserting money in the machine?

my suggestion is all locals stay away from the palms for a couple

of weeks and see if they don't change these stupid rules for local
customers.
