Being "tripped" at the Palms...

I have since found out that swiping your card for a drawing (day of drawing,
or previous days to get free entry) or swiping your card for a Swipe and Win
promo does NOT count as a trip.

Redeeming a postcard offer, or downloading free play, or inserting money in
a machine when your card is inserted DOES trigger a trip.

I don't know for certain.

I don't believe swiping to activate entries counts as a trip. However, I do
believe that swiping for a "prize" does, like the Swipe and Win promos.

I will try to find out for sure, and will post the info here.

Good information. Do you know whether swiping your card for a drawing
counts as a trip?

or inserting money in

a machine when your card is inserted DOES trigger a trip.

Brian, Isn't it the process of placing a bet that triggers the trip?
Say I inserted my card followed by a $20 bill in the validator, then
changed my mind and cashed out the $20 and removed my card without
placing a bet. Do you think this event would trigger a trip, as
opposed to inserting my card soley to check my points without
inserting money in the machine?

Why would someone drive to a casino; walk up to a machine; insert
their player card and money. Then, after all that, change their mind
and go home without ever playing? Who would do that? Why?

At Palms, I can think of three examples.
1. It is a progressive machine and someone hits the jackpot before
you start to play.
2. You are a local and have an epiphany realizing you are at Palms
and George will reduce your next months mailer by 75% for having a
small day of play.
3. Since it is the Palms, the female next to you is a prostitute and
has made you an offer you can't refuse.
