What possible answer could this supervisor expect to the
question, "Did you cheat"? Even discounting the very obvious
conclusion that it would be very difficult if not impossible to
cheat in this manner, did he actually think that Brian would
say, "Yes! I cheated. Confiscate my six $500 tickets and call the
Metro Police!"

Had I been in Brian's place I would have been extremely insulted by
the insinuation of this casino employee that I was cheating! I
would have immediately demanded to speak with the highest ranking
manager currently in the casino, and would have insisted on an
apology.

How about if things are reversed? I, or anyone, but I would probably be a
good candidate for this job, goes into the Edgewater, plays, and losses (a
likelihood with me and video poker) and then proceeds to the cage to question the
supervisor as to whether the casino cheats! Then, with the account of the
previous incident in hand or, better yet, the individuals who were so highly
insulted by my side, I call the gaming control board and request that they send
an agent to investigate the potential cheating by the casino on the machine
that didn't pay.

In addition to those fine written words; the jerk casino employee was
conducting an investigation on his own. Unlike some who think the
employee acted OK, he was really just stupid. If he thought something
was up, he should have called computer department and given them the
ticket numbers being cashed. In a short time computer folks can tell
when ticket generated, how much money or tickets were deposited
before win tickets generated, how long player took to win ticket or
if player actually lost money on cashed tickets from other machines
etc. When ticket is scanned for cashing it's verified. If he still
thought something was wrong he should have called someone or pushed
that hidden button. The customer didn't need to know and shouldn't
have known anything; he's now a suspect. A simple "computer doesn't
seem to respond" or some other BS is all that's needed to stall
customer. Doesn't seem any info taken from customer for state or fed
reports. Therefore, I think the employee just wanted to pull the
customers chain.

How about this question for slot tech; "I called you over because I
put $500 in this machine 6 times. I didn't hit anything. That's
$3000 I spent and I'm broke. Did the machine cheat?"

Happy new year...Jeep
