Last week I slept at the GNL for a night...a restless one. I got checked-in
early...now request 4-West. But something was funny about the bedding. They
put on this flannel/rubber lined matteress cover. It was hot and the bedding
bunched-up. Why bother with the premium Serta Pillow Top premium matteress?
Also, the curtain was hung with a six inch gap from the vertical wall letting
in plenty of light. This time of year you can't adjust the themostat either,
it is either cool or heat. I need the white noise.
I still think the Pioneer works for me. I know my $1k of action will get me
my nights for next visit. I can check-in by 10am. I have just feet to lug my
stuff. The room coffee is the best one shots in sturdy throwaway cups. The
beds/ventalation work. I know you can't impress the girlfriend/wife...but I
just stick in my GNL soaps and poo.
AQ- hope to see the new rooms in May.
Trop- I got to stay here for the very first time in January. Casino Tower
looking at the CB, room #407. I really thought the bed/linens/comforter set
the standard on the river. Six comfy pillows to drool on too. I liked the fact
the signage for this tower did not want kids in elevators, alone the rooms.
They did a remarkable job with the dinky bathroom. Walk-in glass shower and
cubby holes for fluffy towels.
But the shutters, frame and all, were falling out the the window hole. It
was apparent they didn't have a crevice tool for vacuuming, just like most
joints. A pile of laundry and trash bags sat outside my door all night too. This
towers elevators drop you right into the Caboose Lounge, a fine feature.
