QUESTION: What are your suggestions to obtain the lowest cost LV car
rental, avoiding the airport tax?
I was about to lose many, many Delta Airline miles and I was advised
to rent an Avis car to "reactivate" my account.
The following is approximate.
Airport $62
Aladdin $47
West Sahara and Decatur $28
These are for the IDENTICAL car for a 1 day rental.

Renting at a hotel location will save you the ripoff airport fees and
taxes. Sometimes the hotels increase the per day rental fee, but
it's often still cheaper than renting at the airport. One
consideration of renting at a hotel location is your transportation
to/from the airport. Cabbing it obviously defeats the purpose of
renting at a hotel due to their ripoff rates. CAT to/from your hotel
would probably be the most frugal option.

When I go by myself I ride the CAT bus downtown for
one $.50 token and show my senile citizen's pass, pick
up the car at the GN and return it to McCarran. Wife
thinks that is WAY TOO CHEAP so I am picking up a car
at McCarran 1/28, sigh.
