<<<While we're on the subject of the classes/seminars that BD conducts at
various casino, I would be curious to know how many list members have
taken one of his classes. If you have participated in this learning
experience, what was your impression of the lessons he teaches?>>>>
I attended his class last Tuesday on 2-pair Joker Wild. His format was
pretty much to give out strategy charts and go through example hands. As
you might imagine there were a lot of trick hands as one would expect
from Bob.
He said at the end of the class that the report for Joker Wild games was
approximately 80% completed and that appeared to be as far as they would
go due to creative differences between himself and coauthor Liam W.
Daily. I find this unfortunate as Bob's reports are by far the most
detailed complete discussions of the various games available in print.
We can debate the importance of employing the complex detailed strategies
presented in these reports, but I think their contribution to the
understanding of the theories behind the games is irrefutable. Failure
to publish the Joker Wild report will certainly leave a void for those of
us who love the game of video poker. I would encourage anyone who feels
likewise to send correspondence to Bob encouraging him to work out their
differences and complete these reports which, hopefully without being too
melodramatic, will probably be his lasting legacy to the game of video
poker.
